The City Planning Department has embarked on a three-year process to update four Community Plans for the Westside of Los Angeles: Palms-Mar Vista-Del Rey, Venice, West Los Angeles and Westchester-Playa del Rey.

Our WSSM community is included in the West Los Angeles Plan area.

Much like the Expo Plan, the Westside Community Plan updates will have a far-reaching impact on life in our area. Developers (and their surrogates such as a pressure group called Abundant Housing LA) see enormous profit potential in these updates and have already started lobbying for aggressive upzoning on the Westside, including elimination of single-family streets. So it is vital that our community’s voice is heard loud and clear by the planners – especially in the early stages of the process, when many key decisions will be made.
