Map of SB 50 upzoning

Map of SB 50 “neighborhood wipeout” zones released

The Coalition to Preserve LA (C2PLA) has teamed up with Livable California to do an in-depth study of State Senator Scott Wiener’s neighborhood-destruction bill – known as SB 50 – and has produced an interactive map to show the extent of the impacts.  Check it out HERE.

The analysis includes upzoning proposed by Wiener in so-called jobs-rich/good schools areas.  The terms “jobs-rich” and “good schools” are not defined in the current draft of SB 50 (mid-March 2019), but according to the San Francisco Planning Department’s new analysis, these zones may mimic “high resource” areas previously mapped by the State of California for other programs.  The San Francisco Planning Department’s approach has been roughly approximated in the C2PLA/Livable California map, to create the yellow jobs-rich/good schools zones, within which buildings up to 75 feet high will be allowed next to – and replacing – single-family homes.

Note:  Neither the Coalition to Preserve LA nor Livable California makes any warranties as to the accuracy of their map.  Anyone using the map must accept the associated Terms of Service, which can be viewed in the map link (above).
