LA City Ethics Commission Considers Ban on Developer Contributions

At its meeting on February 19, 2019, Los Angeles City Ethics Commission will continue its review of contributions from real estate developers to political campaigns in the city.  This discussion is timely, as it coincides with an ongoing (and widening) FBI investigation into corruption at LA’s City Hall.

The Commission is taking public comments on a potential ban of contributions from many developers and a ban of behested payments.  If – like so many Angelenos – you are concerned about the behind-the-scenes influence of developers and their lobbyists, this is your opportunity to make your voice heard.  Comments may be submitted via email at ethics.policy@lacity.org.

The deadline for comments is January 31, 2019.
